If there’s one thing my two kids agree on, it’s that they both love running around outside even if they don’t always agree on what to play.
If there’s one thing my two kids agree on, it’s that they both love running around outside even if they don’t always agree on what to play. That’s how our Sibling Sports Party was born: a backyard (or local-park) get-together where big kids, little kids, and parents can join in.
🥅 Soccer Showdown
My 10-year-old takes his soccer very seriously, so we marked a “mini-field” with cones and divided the group into mixed-age teams. The rules were flexible: younger kids got two points for every goal, older ones got one. It made things fair and hilarious.
For families who prefer a structured event, Funtime Kids Parties runs Sports Party Packages — including soccer-themed challenges and relay races that keep everyone moving (and parents free to cheer).
🏃 Sack Races & Tug-of-War
My 6-year-old’s highlight was the sack race. We used pillowcases and laughter did the rest. Then came tug-of-war — kids versus parents. Spoiler: parents lost. Gloriously.
🍉 Picnic & Chill Zone
After all the energy, we rolled out picnic rugs, fruit skewers, and water bottles. Everyone shared stories of “epic saves” and “almost wins.”
💪 Why Sports Parties Rock
They’re inclusive, affordable, and timeless. Whether it’s soccer, running, or classic backyard games, they remind kids (and us parents) that play is better than perfection.
